NTT DoCoMo has a diverse buffet of smartphones released
Is too much of a good thing bad for you? Perhaps, but not for a select group of techies who think that you can never have too much choice. If that is the case, then you would do well to check out the delectable spread of smartphones over in Japan from NTT DoCoMo, as they have just announced their 2011 summer range that comprises of two dozen mobile devices that will roll out from May 20th onwards. Of course, smartphones are not the only releases since feature phones that are compatible with DoCoMo’s i-mode mobile Internet platform will also hit the deck to make your purchase decision even more confusing.
Not only that, NTT DoCoMo also has mobile Wi-Fi routers out for DoCoMo’s Xi (read as “Crossy”) LTE extra-high-speed service. The smartphones that are on offer will allow tethering, making them impromptu mobile modems, while supporting mobile-wallet (Osaifu-Keitai) and infrared-based data exchange.
To sweeten the deal and have you bite their bait, there will also be the first wirelessly chargeable smartphone in that part of the world, and all of them will come pre-installed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box.
