Nokia to support Symbian devices until 2016
Even though we know that Nokia has abandoned Symbian in favor of Windows Phone 7, it looks like it’s going to take them a long time to let go. According to the latest interview Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop had with Nokia Conversations he plans to support Symbian until 2016. Yes you heard it right folks. According to Elop, support and other services for Symbian phones will continue at least up to 2016.
While Nokia will be supporting the operating system, it won’t be the main focus of the company as we learnt yesterday that they will be steadily churning out WP7 phones starting at the end of this year and next year onwards. You can watch a video clip of the interview after the break. Oh yeah, check out the phone he’s using at the end of the clip.
