Well now, the clever folks at XDA-developers found a way around the problem. They’ve managed to find a way to get it working successfully on the HTC ThunderBolt. But the phone has to be rooted and running a Gingerbread ROM. If you fit the criteria and feel like getting your fix of Netflix on your ThunderBolt, head over to the XDA-developers thread to find out what to do. No word on whether it will work with your 4G connection, but it has been confirmed to work over 3G and WiFi.
With Netflix hacked to work on so many devices, I wonder why Netflix didn’t just release official versions of the app for all Android phones at once. Since the app is free anyway – it’s only the service that people have to pay for, and those people who already pay for Netflix have some other way to watch it and aren’t going to rely on their Android phones completely.
