Lookee here, a TV!

Streaming radio broadcasts directly from the Internet is nothing new, as over-the-air radio is slowly but surely losing ground to the former, and you too are able to access worldwide content without missing a beat. With the Lookee TV however, your eyes too will get their fair share of entertainment, as it is able to stream video content from the Internet  to boot. To put it into perspective, the Lookee TV will let you access more than 1,400 pseudo-TV channels and over 3,000 radio stations, podcasts included. Now that is definitely entertainment and information overload, so brace your brains for it!

Your eyes will find that the 4.3″ display should be sufficient, but we aren’t too stoked about the resolution count of just 480 x 272 pixels. Come on now, even smartphones at that screen size these days have 800 x 480 resolution, so why not a portable media player of sorts? Forget about high definition either, the Lookee TV will feature just standard definition video-out connection so that you can connect it to a larger display, putting that brand new 72″ plasma TV you purchased to a humiliating experience of featuring standard definition content.

It seems that the Lookee TV is meant to be a more advanced alternative of your average alarm clock. You can search for various stations by region, language, genre or custom keywords, while you can compile your own favorites lists. Apart from that, it will also work as a desktop media player/digital photo frame with audio and video content like AVI, FLV, MKV and WMV files played from an SD memory card. Anyone knows where to place this $199.99 device that seems to occupy the no-man’s land niche?
