iChromy

I have a feeling that Chrome lovers with iPad tablets are going to be quite pleased. The folks over at Diigo have announced the launch of iChromy – a web browsing app that brings the some of the best features of Chrome over to the iPad. With Google making no mention of ever bringing the Chrome web browser to iOS, you don’t have to hold your breath waiting for it to arrive. iChromy is here now and attempts to take its place.

The web browser won’t be a complete translation of Chrome – rather, it will take the features that people love about Chrome and introduce some enhancements of its own. So what does iChromy have to offer? Tabbed browsing with tabs on top, an omnibox for both searching and entering web addresses, an offline reading list, and most importantly – speed. The browser is touted to be faster than other multi-tab browsers on the iPad. It will also include sharing features and search from the context menu.

iChromy is free and available on the Apple App Store for download now, so why not give it a spin – it’s not like it costs you anything anyway.
