Huadian’s effort will see plenty of design features and characteristics in the hugely popular iPad 2 make an appearance, ranging from the alloy contstruction to a 9.7″ capacitive touchscreen display and a thickness (or should we say, thin-ness) of 8.8mm. GizChina claims that the clone will be far inferior when you take it apart, since it runs off a much slower 800MHz AMLogic CPU compared to Apple’s 1GHz dual core A5 processor.
Other hardware specifications would be 512MB RAM (similar to the iPad 2), but it loses out where flash memory is concerned, maxing out at a paltry 8GB when the iPad 2 comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. No idea on the operating system, but you can be sure that it won’t be iOS – will we see Android on it? How much are you willing to pay for something like this?
