Whenever we see a copycat mobile device (such as the knock off iPhone 4 nano reported recently), it usually is inferior to the original product it is based on. However, some folks have spotted a copy of the Dell Streak 7 tablet, which contains some features not included in the original version.
The Dell Streak 7 copy can make phone calls (but face it, who wants to make calls with a 7″ tablet anyway?) has a bigger 3,000mAh battery, and comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It is also cheaper, costing $180 unsubsidized but its touchscreen is of the resistive variety, and its processor is single-core and clocked at 1.2GHz. It’s probably never going to reach our shores but it is interesting to see what these manufacturers dealing in the Shanzai market can come up with. Who wants to see a 7″ iPhone next?
