Dell Streak 7 stripped down by the FCC

The Dell Streak 7 is the second Android tablet from the PC manufacturer, where it hit the market earlier this year. Of course, for the majority of us, we would have just used the Streak 7 as it is without even bothering to tinker with its innards by opening it up. Well, that is clearly not the case with the good people over at the FCC who have taken the Dell Streak 7 and literally ripped it apart (nicely, of course) so that they are able to get down to the nitty gritty. We do know that this 7″ device will be powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, sporting 16GB of internal memory, a front 1.3-megapixel camera and a rear 5-megapixel camera, where you can get it from T-Mobile in the US. Response wasn’t hot to begin with, so we can’t use the “Dell’s on a hot streak” pun in our posts, as the display did not live up to expectations and neither did the battery life fare too well.

Having laid that aside, let us take a gander at what the FCC has seen inside – relying on flash memory from Sandisk, while its wireless data card is from Huawei, containing a Qualcomm MDM8200A processor. What stands out the most is the Streak 7 tends to use a whole lot more plastic in comparison to the iPad, so you might want to take note of that. Lots of plastic don’t do too well in the long run…
