AT&T also demonstrated the speeds that would be closer to real world downloads that consumers will normally experience instead of trying to hit the 150Mbps download connections that nobody ever achieves. They also mentioned that the speeds will gradually decrease the more users they get around a cell tower, but they didn’t mention by how much.
AT&T’s 4G LTE network runs on the 700MHz and AWS band of spectrum that they currently own, so it’s important for them to acquire T-Mobile (since they plan to turn T-Mobile’s towers into towers for their 4G service). Let’s hope the rumors of a June launch for AT&T’s LTE network are true so we won’t have to wait too long for our fix.
