Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro ready to rock Japan
There is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, and then there is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro so that you know both are different handsets and not the result of a typo. The latter, of course, would be one that will be exclusive only to Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, since the former has recently hit the market Stateside. The Xperia Acro will lose its Xenon flash, but in place of that “sacrifice” would be a TV tuner that lets you enjoy your favorite TV series wherever you are outside of the home. Apart from that, there will be an NFC chip inside which makes sense since NFC technology is implemented across a far wider range in Japan compared to us living across the Pacific. An infrared sensor and Sony’s 8-megapixel Exmor camera sensor rounds off the list of hardware specifications, which isn’t too shabby when you think about it. Hopefully it is priced right in Japan. You know what would be cool for phones in Japan and other earthquake-prone areas? An earthquake detector built right into it, that’s what.
