Slow Photography camera concept

Cell phone and smartphones these days tend to come with camera sensors that used to be the bomb in an actual digital camera say, maybe 5 to 8 years’ back. In fact, those who do not normally take photos start to do so with their handsets simply because it is so convenient to do so, and it is a surefire way to move on to professional grade digital photography in the long run.

The Slow Photography camera wants you to stop and smell the proverbial roses, where it was specially designed to be an alternate route in modern photography, requiring the photographer to consider traditional photographic principles such as framing, composition and lens selection. It isn’t going to make point-and-shoot any easier, but instead, will rely on interchangeable lenses on cell phones and smartphones to provide the flexibility and creative freedom of a DSLR.

In fact, some research has shown that the Apple iPhone 4 is currently occupying the top 3 spot in most used cameras, placing it ahead of Canon’s EOS Rebel XSi and second only to Nikon’s D90. Slow Photography might just make more people take up the shutterbug cause more seriously, sporting a trio of lenses – fixed focal length, macro and fisheye so that you can learn to carefully compose your shot. Anyone wants to see this mass produced?
