At the recent MIX11 conference, there was even the presence of Android at the Microsoft event, but it wasn’t there to steal the limelight away from the Redmond giants. The folks who were behind the port for Silverlight to Linux have managed to port Microsoft’s application framework over to the Android operating system. This means that in the future, we’ll be able to run Silverlight content on our Android devices. This means Silverlight videos and games or apps in addition to the Flash content that Android can view. It’s still in the works right now, but when developers go full steam ahead with Silverlight apps later this year (especially when Windows Phone 7 supports it), you can expect to run those apps on Android as well.
