Siemens has new Aquaris hearing aids
Siemens intends to usher in a new era of hearing aids with their Aquaris system, touted by the company to be the first waterproof, dustproof, and shock-resistant hearing aid of its kind. The Aquaris will utilize Siemens’ BestSound algorithms which have been quite effective at improving sound quality in previous hearing aids, while making sure it conforms to the internationally recognized IP57 standard for dust and water resistance. The housing of this hearing aid is constructed from a sole, solid piece, sporting a watertight microphone membrane and a waterproof battery compartment so that Aquaris is able to be submerged in up to three feet of water. Apart from that, it will feature an ergonomic shape and non-slip, textured surface which ensures the Aquaris remains behind the ear in order to prevent slipping. Not only that, an optional Sport Clip is there to secure the instrument during intense movement and high-impact activities while a water-resistant Aquapac will protect audio devices. No idea on pricing as at press time though, although we would like to have that information sooner rather than later.
