Samsung Galaxy S gets Gingerbread update pulled
It seems that owners of the Samsung Galaxy S are about to go through some sort of emotional turmoil at the moment – Vodafone has just announced that the long awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread update fo rthe Samsung Galaxy S will not be released – not at least until further notice. Things do seem to point towards Google citing an unknown “issue with the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Galaxy S.” No idea on what kind of issue this involves, but according to Vodafone, they did not encounter any performance issues with their version of the Galaxy S at all.
This is a bummer, since March has already passed, and the intended Gingerbread update was supposed to drop by then. It is now April, and with Google coming up with such news, it can be quite disheartening. Apparently, this particular issue does affect unbranded Galaxy S devices, too. All is not rosy at the moment, but we hope that Google will work things out sooner rather than later. If you’re a Galaxy S owner, what would you do about your situation – would you want to purchase a new phone, or be patient until Google solves all the niggling issues?
