Samsung Alex: Chrome OS notebook specs leaked

It looks like Google might be gearing up for the launch of their Chrome OS very soon. Details of another Chrome OS notebook have leaked out into the wild. Google previously mentioned that the first two hardware partners to release Chrome OS notebooks would be Acer and Samsung, and since Acer’s notebook leaked out the other day, there’s no surprise that today’s leak was from a Samsung device.

Some folks discovered a bug report with information about a new Samsung notebook designed to run Chrome OS – the notebook has been named the Samsung Alex, it runs on a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor, it features a 1280 x 800 display and it has a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 wireless module for Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, a SanDisk SSD, Synaptics Touchpad, Namuga webcam, a flash card reader, VGA output, USB ports and of course, Chrome OS.

There’s no word on pricing or availability but it shouldn’t be too long before Google makes their Chrome OS notebooks official. Anybody looking forward to getting their hands on a Chrome OS notebook?
