Nokia-Microsoft deal inked

The Nokia-Microsoft alliance came as a shocker when it was announced a quite awhile ago, but back then details weren’t confirmed, and everything seemed a bit sketchy. Even the release dates for the upcoming Nokia-Windows Phone 7 devices were all over the place, with reports of the phones arriving later this year, and some say next year, and the fact that rumors of prototypes already made didn’t help clear things up either.

Well now we know that Nokia and Microsoft have confirmed their partnership, as announced on the official Nokia blog. They are already working together toward a multi-year product roadmap and are on schedule to start delivering Nokia-WP7 phones in 2012, though they’re still open to the possibility of a handset later this year.

At least now we know that Nokia devices are on the way and we don’t have to hold our breath for a device to arrive this year – it may or may not happen. Read more about the signing over at Nokia’s blog or watch the following video where Microsoft and Nokia discuss about their strategic alliance.
