To celebrate the festivities for Sonic’s 20th birthday this year, Sega released a teaser trailer for a new Sonic game. From what little we could glean, it would appear the old Sonic (before he got green eyes and had super long legs) will be making a return, as he is seen running alongside today’s Sonic. Concerning the Sonic franchise, it’s time the series gets serious and went back to its roots. Ever since Sonic went multi-platform after the demise of the Sega Dreamcast, Sonic’s been on a downhill spiral. 2006’s Sonic on PS3 and 360 saw Sonic fall in love with a human and the recent Sonic games on the Wii have been atrocious. And don’t even get me started on that Sonic Free Riders game for Kinect. Hopefully Sega has a real surprise for us in store this time around and not more cheesy ways to shove Sonic into ridiculous outfits like in Sonic and the Black Knight. Give us a real sequel to Sonic Adventures and make it high-def. Click past the break to see the short trailer.
