HTC Wildfire S spotted at the FCC

The HTC Wildfire was deemed to be one of the more basic Android-powered smartphones when it first hit the market during the HTC Desire era, offering just enough processing muscle to handle the most basic of tasks in a fun manner, making it quite the popular Android phone amongst those who are on a tight budget. Well, to keep in line with more recent and upcoming releases, HTC has announced the entry-level Wildfire S at MWC in February this year, and said handset has already hit the FCC for testing and approval.

Also known as the PG76110 in its filings, the Wildfire S picked up FCC approval for GSM 850 and 1900 bands, in addition to WCDMA bands II and V. For those who constantly check out just which mobile carrier uses what bands, they would realize that these refer to AT&T’s service Stateside, so never mind the fact that there is no AT&T branding spotted on the Wildfire S just yet – it is only a matter of time before that happens. 

Just so you know what the HTC Wildfire S carries inside, it will come with a 3.2″ display, a 600MHz processor, 512MB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box. No idea on how much it will cost, but it should hit the market before Q2 is over.
