LTE toggle switch for HTC Thunderbolt appears on Android Market
The HTC Thunderbolt which has notoriously poor battery life will now have some sort of battery saver in the form of a LTE toggle switch that is made available over the Android Market. Since this handset is sold in markets where Verizon’s next-generation wireless network is currently unavailable, it makes perfect sense that one should turn off the LTE capability in order to conserve battery life – the idea is pretty much the same as turning off 3G when you’re in areas that have just GPRS or EDGE coverage. This new app is known as LTE OnOFF, where it will weigh in at 11KB while letting you toggle LTE in but three simple clicks. We would have preferred just one click, but since the software is free, we aren’t going to complain.
