HTC Droid Incredible 2 officially announced

It took its time, but it’s almost here. HTC has just officially announced the HTC Incredible 2 today. Prior to today, there have been countless leaks about the Android smartphone and today’s announcement confirms all the details we’ve already known for awhile now. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is the successor to the original Droid Incredible, and rebranded for Verizon’s network (it’s called the Incredible S in other countries).

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 will be a global phone, meaning you’ll be able to use it in over 200 countries all over the world (just as long as you plug a supported SIM card into the phone). It comes with a 4″ screen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Android 2.2 with HTC Sense, an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities; a 1.3megapixel front facing camera, Adobe Flash Player, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS. It also packs SRS WOWHD surround sound, and integrated noise cancellation for improved sound quality be it for entertainment or having conversations.

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 will go on sale this Thursday, April 28, for $199.99 and a 2-year contract. With no 4G LTE and an outdated version of Android, this phone might be a pretty hard sell at that price, but its global-phone capabilities and large screen should draw some attention.
