Perhaps the person behind the advertisement was too zealous in bringing word to the masses that the BlackBerry PlayBook is able to run Android applications since RIM did mention that they will throw in a kind of Android emulator of sorts on the enterprise tablet, but bear in mind that it is not the same as running Android natively, but rather, using a modified version of the extremely stable QNX OS to do so. The QNX OS has seen action in in-car entertainment systems for years already, but it is still quite a shocker to see Mac-retailer MacMall showing off the “first professional-grade tablet” that runs off Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
Strangely enough, while it was spotted since yesterday, the webpage has not taken down the offensive image just yet – leaving purists fuming that such a blasphemous image could still be up for all and sundry to see. We see this as purely an honest mistake on MacMall’s part, and perhaps the next time round they might want to consult Baojun Yuan on getting it right.
