One of the first few features would be to assist those who perform a whole lot of document uploads – Google will now allow you to upload folders instead of individual files, preserving the whole folder structure. To put it in layman’s terms, folders within folders will also be uploaded without missing a beat.
Apart from that, the user interface will also see an improvement, where the upload feature will be merged directly into the documents list. This would translate to the upload settings getting changed in the process, and you will be asked whether you want to convert the files automatically to Google Docs and if you want images converted to text via OCR if you’re using it for the first time.
Last but not least, you can drag and drop directly into the documents list so that an uploading process can begin – this works great only for individual files, so full folders are excluded. Bear in mind that many of these new features that will be made available in May onwards will only work on newer browsers such as Chrome (obviously), Firefox and Safari.
