The other day, a HTC spokesperson was quoted as saying Gingerbread (Android 2.3) would be arriving on the EVO 4G, though an exact date wasn’t given (Q2) and now it looks like the build could be making its way to your phone sooner than later. Some folks have managed to acquire a leaked version of the EVO 4G Gingerbread ROM and have posted it up online for anyone to everybody to download. While it doesn’t have HTC Sense 3.0, it does come with the quick-boot function that is present in the current HTC Sense introduced with the Desire Z and Desire HD last year. While this Gingerbread update probably isn’t the final build that will be released, it does show that HTC actually are working on the update instead of making empty promises. Head over to XDA-developers to find out how to get Gingerbread on your EVO 4G.
