Here is something to give your work week a more soothing experience – we are looking at a conceptual design by DesignWright for Lexon, where one intends to achieve the fine balance between form and function in this clock/radio combo that will have a speaker and LED display that shares the same surface. The aluminium case used will ensure that the device itself has a timeless appeal, while the material is nice to one’s touch – and giving it more than just a touch of class. We must say that Apple has certainly gone out of its way to make sure that any design with aluminum will ignite the lust for a gadget inside.
Since this is a conceptual design, it makes perfect sense for it to be slim in nature without worrying about whether today’s technology can be crammed in or not – that depends greatly on the engineers of today to discover the solutions of tomorrow for such problems. The speaker will seamlessly connect to a smartphone or portable music player, while being able to transmit phone calls and music sans wires, too. No idea on whether this will materialize as an actual device or not, but we will just have to wait and see.
