Acer Aspire One 722 being prepped for release
Acer rolled out a couple of mini notebooks that had AMD processors at the heart of things sometime last year, where they came in the form of the Acer Aspire One 521 and Aspire One 721. Of course, since the model numbers are different, the specifications were obviously different as well, with the 721 sporting a more generous 11.6″ display while the 521 has a less spectacular 10.1″ display. Fast forward to 2011 and you get Acer with an updated Aspire One 522, a 10″ netbook that features a new AMD C-50 processor running underneath the hood. Obviously, it more or less goes without saying that there is an Aspire One 722 on the cards – of course, with a larger display albeit running on the same processor.
Macles has reported that the Acer Aspire One 722 will ship with an 11.6″ 1366 x 768 pixel resolution display and a 1GHz AMD C-50 dual core processor, accompanied by an AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics chipset. Stereo speakers are there for you to blast your favorite tunes (or rather, torture those around you with boy band pop music) while a higher capacity battery compared ot the Aspire One 522 ought to give is slightly more legs in the open and away from a power outlet.
The lid itself has also been tweaked to ship with a water-drop design. No idea though, on when the Aspire One 722 will ship or how much one would have to fork out in the form of the fast-depreciating American dollars.
