Urban Photonic Sandtable Display 3D system makes it fun to be in the army
The Air Force and Army will soon be able to deploy their fighting forces in a far more effective and efficient manner after receiving new 3D holographic technology that will help assist military leaders when it comes to battle planning and design, courtesy of a program by the Department of Defense’s research arm. This program, known as the Urban Phototonic Sandtable Display (UPSD), is able to create a real-time, 360-degree, 3D holographic display that will go some way in helping military commanders and mission planners visualize and plan battles like never before. This is definitely something pulled right out from a sci-fi movie, but with today’s technology being more than ready to usher in tomorrow, we’re pretty stoked on just how fast we can administer justice to despots in the future.
