The bitter cold of winter is long gone, so it is now time for us to usher in a much brighter and warmer spring climate. Well, to keep yourself occupied, why not put those long weekends to good use with the DIY Sentry Gun? This unique project is not only able to autonomously track, but aim and shoot at targets as well thanks to an airsoft or paintball gun. A webcam will be used to select its targets, while a computer is utilized to process the video feed while getting a solid aim. Servo motors will be used to physically aim the gun and squeeze the trigger, while a sturdy tripod base makes sure it stays on target. Of course, the only non-techie part of all this would be the tins of camo paint and your own intuition to deck up this Sentry Gun to blend in with the rest of your surroundings to catch cheeky neighborhood kids unawares.
