Samsung’s ultra-thin notebook that was unveiled at CES earlier this year is finally now up for sale. The lightweight 13.3″ (1366 x 768) edge-to-edge display toting laptop has been officially announced by the Korean electronics manufacturer and will be on retail shelves tomorrow. Prices start at $1,649 for the 1.4GHz Core i5-2537M, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD and Windows 7 Home Premium model (Windows 7 Professional costs $50 more and will be available next month). Weighing less than 3 pounds and only 0.6″ thick, this laptop is definitely gunning for the MacBook Air’s position of the featherweight, notebook champion. Samsung has also announced a smaller version of the laptop that packs an 11″ display, 1.33GHz Core i3-380UM dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD that will arrive next month, but no prices have been revealed yet.
