Electronic Arts drops hints about Wii 2
We all know that the Wii gaming console from Nintendo is starting to show its age. It’s been over 4 years since its release in November 2006; Nintendo hasn’t really done anything to update the system. Well it looks like it’s about time Nintendo did something about it and that’s what they’re doing, according to Electronic Arts Games Label President, Frank Gibeau. He recently dropped some hints about the Wii 2 by saying that Nintendo is aware of the situation and is taking measures to address the situation. “When you look at Nintendo, for a while there, it was all about the Wii being the biggest entertainment platform ever and capturing the mass market, and it faded away. Now, they’re coming back with a second act. I think they know that. They’re very self-aware as an organization and a very powerful brand.” The next Wii will probably head in the direction of supporting HD visuals, but other than that, details are still up for speculation. It’s going to be interesting to see what revolutionary console Nintendo can come up with to succeed the Wii. After all, the Wii took the world by storm when it launched, and it would only be fitting for the Wii 2 to do so. Any idea what Nintendo will be up to this time around?
