Archos has more ideas for new generation of Android tablets

Archos, a name from France that has been associated with portable media players for over a decade, has also forayed into the potentially competitive Android-powered tablet market, carving out a niche for itself in the low cost market with further plans for its next generation of Android tablets. Archos’ Gen 9 tablets will see 1.6GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 chips running proceedings from within, with plans to roll out its first tablets with 3G mobile broadband connectivity sometime later this year. Of course, when something is more affordable, you can expect build quality to be different, and the Gen 9 tablets are touted to come with plastic cases over a stainless steel frame, and to get the cheapest deal out there, you will most probably have to alnd yourself a hard drive model, as the solid state disks version will burn a larger hole in your pocket. Good luck to Archos and their attempts!
