[MWC 2011] NVIDIA and Atmel
have come together in a show of solidarity in order to announce a partnership at MWC 2011 that will see them develop large touchscreen tablets in the long run. The touchscreen displays will hail from Atmel, and needless to say, NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip will be the brains behind the devices. For those who are curious, a demonstration model will be on parade which boasts the maXTouch mXT1386 display. With a reference design that is powered by Android, you can have a tablet of up to 15″ in size, although there is the possibility of scaling it down for other more portable devices like smartphones and smaller tablets. Just for some trivia, NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip is able to recognize up to 16 simultaneous touch inputs.
