HTC ChaCha and Salsa unveiled with dedicated Facebook button

[MWC 2011] Remember those leaked HTC phones with a dedicated Facebook button? Turns out that those phones were real, as HTC has unveiled the HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa, both devices that offer easy access to Facebook via a dedicated button. These phones are powered by Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 and use the latest version of HTC Sense to integrate Facebook throughout the device. When making a phone call to a friend or receiving a call, the dialer screen shows the friend’s latest status and photos and even tells you if their birthday is approaching. The Facebook button is actually context-aware and if you’ve just taken a photograph, you can hit the button to instantly upload it to Facebook. You can also let your friends know what you’re listening to by pressing the button while listening to music on the phone.

The HTC ChaCha offers a QWERTY keyboard to appease the message-crazy folks out there and features a unique tilt design, making the display easy to view and the keyboard comfortable to type on. The phone is blessed with a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, not to mention a front-facing VGA camera. Your pictures and videos will be displayed on the phone’s 2.6-inch 480 x 320 pixel resolution touchscreen display.

The HTC Salsa looks vaguely like the HTC Hero and is a fast, high-performance smartphone with a 5-megapixel camera and a 3.4-inch 480 x 320 pixel touchscreen display. A VGA front-facing camera is also included for your video calling needs.
