One of the most highly-anticipated webOS devices was revealed at HP’s webOS event today – the very first webOS tablet called TouchPad. HP has finally announced their entry into the webOS tablet market with this device and it’s looking good so far. The TouchPad packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 9.7″ touchscreen (1024 x 768), 16 or 32GB of storage, Flash support, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, internal stereo speakers and Beats Audio, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, and HP Touchstone support. It looks like HP has a serious competitor in the tablet category, and the iPad 2, PlayBook and Xoom should be a little concerned if not worried. No prices were mentioned, but it will be available this summer as well (whatever happened to releasing devices a few weeks after announcements? Was it only for the Veer?). Have you got your mind set on which tablet you’ll be purchasing this year?
