Hitachi Maxell charging pad

The days of having to hunt for charging cables are almost over. Wireless induction charging seems to be a step in the right direction and many manufacturers are keen on adopting this standard. Hitachi Maxell is one of them. They have recently announced a new charging pad for the iPhone 4. Called the WP-PD10.BK and WP-PS10S.BK, these charging pads, coupled with a charging sleeve will allow you to charge your iPhone 4 without the use of any cables – just lay the phone on the mat while it’s in the sleeve. Both mats are the same except that the WP-PD10.BK will have two 5W power transmissions (for charging 2 iPhones at once) while the WP-PS10S.BK only has one. No prices have been announced, but expect the devices to arrive in Japan on April 25. Hopefully we’ll get to see them in the US as well. After all, who likes wires?
