Affinity Chair takes the invisible route

Ben Alun-Jones’ has come up with something really interesting – a chair which is “invisible” so to speak, from certain angles. Known as the Affinity Chair, it does seem as though you’re sitting on nothing, letting you be supported by thin air. Of course, that is not the case, and unless you get a seat cushion, this isn’t probably going to be the most comfortable piece of furniture in your living room, but you can be sure that it is the best looking one. A plastic acrylic sheet and one-way mirror film are utilized to create a structure which reflects and merges with its surroundings. The chair will respond to and camouflage itself to match its environment, where it will interact with the sitter. Sensors will activate pulsing LEDs that are cleverly stashed away within its frame which quicken like a heart beat as it is approached.
