The folks over at Pocket-lint managed to get confirmation from an Acer spokesperson about the Taiwanese company hopping on the Windows Phone 7 bandwagon. Apparently Acer has got some WP7 handsets planned for a September or October launch. The launch of the handsets will coincide with the launch of Windows Phone 7.5 (codenamed Mango) which will basically put them head to head against the Nokia WP7 phones released around the same time (if speculations turn out to be true). Windows Phone 7 might not have kicked off with an impressive launch, but it seems that Microsoft is slowly ramping up the necessary support needed to turn their mobile operating system into a potent competitor for the throne. It’s about time they push out their first major WP7 update though.
