The folks over at Engadget managed to get some exclusive Sony info again. According to some tipsters, the Japanese electronics manufacturer known for their TVs and PlayStation console will be joining the tablet warzone with two more tablets – another Android tablet to join the recently rumored S1 called the S2 and a VAIO-branded Windows 7-powered tablet slider. The Windows 7 slider will pack a 9.4″ touchscreen and will run on a Pinetrail-class Intel Atom processor. It will ship for $799 when it arrives out this fall. On the other hand, the S2 will pack an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and will have WiFi, 3G as well as rear and front cameras. It will also have a pair of 5.5″ displays and will resemble an oval cylinder when closed. The device will run Android apps optimized for dual screens (like those in the Kyocera Echo) and is rumored to ship by the holidays this year with a price tag of $699. Yet another tablet to join the oversaturated tablet market – will Sony stand a chance in this competition? How does the idea of a clamshell tablet device sound to you?
