Sony VAIO F Series: the Ultimate 3D Laptop

VAIO F 3D

[CES 2011] The consumer electronics industry needs to sell more computing power to mainstream consumers who now own “good enough” devices; so, pushing 3D to all screens is a good strategy to convince people to upgrade. At CES, Sony unveiled its VAIO F Series laptop equipped with a 16.0″ Full HD 3D LED widescreen backlit display that works with the same active shutter glasses used with the Bravia 3D TV. It features ultra-high contrast ratio, super fast response time and high-speed refresh rate, thanks to its Frame Sequential technology that displays 1920×1080 3D images at 240 fps. You can convert 2D HD video and DVD/BD to 3D in real time with the push of a button. Touted as the ultimate entertainment laptop, the VAIO F boasts Intel Core Quad-Core i7-2630QM, NVIDIA GeForce GT540M graphics with DirectX 11 support and 1GB dedicated VRAM, Sony S-force 3D technology delivering virtual 5.1 surround sound, HDMI output. The VAIO “3D” packs serious performances, I cannot wait to get my hands on it at the end of the press conference!

Starting at $1,700, the 3d laptop will be available next month for pre-orders at www.sony.com/pr/fseries.
