While most of us are dreaming about what Samsung might offer in the successor to the popular Galaxy Tab Android-powered tablet, a video and some specifications have surfaced, though they sound outrageous enough that we’re taking it with a pinch of salt. Still, if you’re in the mood for a little brain tease, check out a video and the rumored specifications of this tablet after the jump. We have to admit it’d be cool if the tablet really did incorporate a 3D display. Rumored specifications of it include:
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with the option of upgrading to Honeycomb)
- 3D display after upgrade to Honeycomb
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip
- Gorilla Glass display
- 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash
- 1080p video recording
- 3-megapixel front-facing camera
- 3G
- USB port
- Wi-Fi b/g/n
- Bluetooth 3.0
- 64GB internal memory
- microSD card slot
- 1GB of RAM
- Accelerometer
- Compass
- Barometer
- 7-inch 2048 x 1200 Super AMOLED Plus display
Publisher’s note (Hubert Nguyen): it would be weird for Samsung to use a Tegra 2 processor, while they do make their own line of relatively powerful SoC (system on a chip). Although nothing is impossible, I somehow find this difficult to believe. Even if Tegra 2 is better than whatever Samsung could use in the Galaxy Tab 2, there would be huge political pressure within the company to use Samsung’s own chip. From what I can tell, the “information” is basically coming from nowhere and looks more like a fanboy’s wishlist than anything else.
