Lenovo and NEC join forces to create Japan’s Largest PC group
It looks like Lenovo and NEC are set to take over the world – starting with Japan. NEC, Japan’s number one PC company and Lenovo, the fastest growing top-five PC maker in the world have announced that they will form a joint venture, called NEC Lenovo Japan Group, to grow their commercial and consumer PC business in Japan. Japan is the third largest PC market in the world, and having a strong foothold in the country could give them a significant leverage in the world’s PC market. Through this joint venture, NEC and Lenovo will use each other’s development capabilities and resources to provide new products to all users in Japan. The companies will still be maintaining their own brands and selling their own products, so don’t expect them to go anywhere. We’re looking forward to see what kind of products the two PC giants can come up with under this joint venture.
