Music sync coming to Android devices?
We’ve been hearing rumors of Google launching a music service of its own for some time and now a picture from an Android 2.3 device shows a “Sync Music” option in the device’s Google Account options. While there isn’t any official confirmation of it just yet, it does seem to hint that Google is planning to launch a music synchronization service of sorts, maybe via an online locker. Until Google decides to make an official announcement, we’ll probably have to keep on speculating.
Considering the rivalry that Google and Apple have at the moment, it’ll be interesting to see if a Google music service will be able to set itself apart from Apple’s iTunes. Since Google is already an expert at cloud services, the obvious benefits that it could offer include music streaming, music downloads, playlist synchronization and probably also music purchasing.
