Disney and Fox consider pulling content from Hulu?
While Hulu is a pretty popular service, not everything might be plain sailing for the company as the WSJ is reporting that NBC Universal, News Corp and Walt Disney are “increasingly at odds” with Hulu’s business model and are worried that running content on the site is endangering their own businesses. Because of this, Disney and Fox Broadcasting owner News Corp are already considering pulling content from Hulu and might instead sell more programs to Hulu competitors that offer TV over the Internet, such as Netflix, Microsoft and Apple. It was also noted that Hulu management had discussed revamping Hulu as an online cable operator that would use the web to send live TV channels and video-on-demand content to subscribers, mimicking the bundles of channels sold by cable and satellite operators. With competition increasingly fierce, will Hulu will able to weather the storm?
