AppToyz, the folks behind the RC copter/car control for the iPhone unveiled another toy device at the Toy Fair that’s going on in the UK right now. While it makes use of your iPhone to function, this time it allows you to shoot monsters instead control vehicles. The toy basically acts as a controller for your Augmented Reality games on your iPhone. All you have to do is attach your phone to the gun, run the app and you’re good to go. The gun’s trigger activates a rubber stamp that presses on the screen, which mimics your finger tapping on the screen (to shoot aliens in that come with the accompanying AR game). Since it doesn’t use any electronics, the cost for the device can be kept to a minimum, and this AR blaster will cost less than $31 (£20). AppToyz hopes that in the future, more developers will take advantage of their controller when developing AR games that use similar controls.
