Microsoft recent;y posted the second beta of Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac on the quiet, where this update will iron out some major kinks in the software’s armor. The app will concentrate primarily on the musical side of things, where it now allows playback of AAC files that were synchronized from iTunes – which once could not be played. Not only that, it can also reverse synchronize MP3s that were purchased from the Windows Phone 7-powered (WP7) phone, alongside a proper sync from remote iTunes installs, not to mention bookmarks, ratings, and release dates transfer which weren’t there previously.
The introduction of direct device browsing also allows one to have much more control, where owners are able to manually import individual items from the phone as well as delete or preview them. AAC isn’t the only media format to receive benefits from this new beta, as other media forms also gain from improvements. iPhoto ’11 libraries are a snap to organize now, while the whole video preparation process has been improved. Nice to know that the application is free and will play nice with all WP7 devices, independent of the carrier. Microsoft’s AutoUpdate is now pushing upgrades for existing users, so just make sure you have your data connection on!
