Network-attached storage (NAS) devices seem to be increasingly popular nowadays, especially since many folks have more than one computer in their homes. The latest model from Synology is the DiskStation DS211+, a dual-bay, hot-swappable NAS that features an integrated card reader. The bundled software offers easy security administration and remote access capabilities. Mac users out there will be happy to hear that Time Machine is supported, along with audio and video streaming to UPnP devices. The inclusion of a built-in SD card reader will be a welcome feature to photography fans, since it makes transferring pictures directly to the NAS an easy process. The Synology DS211+ NAS will be priced “around $400” when it’s released.
