Sony Ericsson has recently gone about filing a new patent for its projection phone – albeit this one comes with a twist. Why do we say so? Well, for starters, it will not only be able to project your preferred content to the outside world, it will also come with a sliding and/or folding screen surface, dubbing it a “Mobile communication device with built-in projecting screen”. Sounds nifty, but will projector phones be the future? After all, regular smartphones of today already take up way too much juice than they should in a standard working day, so throwing in a projector functionality might just cut an already disappointing battery life by half.
