Is the title of the smallest solar-powered movie theater in the world worth gunning for? Apparently so, otherwise the folks behind the Sol Cinema wouldn’t have gone around to tout its features, where this movie theater is actually a trailer in disguise, run by the UK-based arts group known as The Undercurrents. The entire cinema (if you can call it that) will run on solar energy alone, without getting help from generators or external batteries, which means the video projectors, sound system, notebooks, hard drives and lights inside shouldn’t be too high powered otherwise even the sun might not even be able to keep up with all the energy consumption. Capable of seating eight people inside, it might just make its way Stateside next year for a tour. Would the vacuum cleaner used to clean up its interior of spilled popcorn at the end of each movie derive its power from solar energy as well?
