The QML Parallax Layer Desktop is an interesting user interface for tablets and other devices that are powered by MeeGo Linux. Instead of offering you the standard boring 2-dimensional desktop with icons and widgets, the software offers you a series of layers. With it, you could have several overlapping layers of widgets, icons and other items, similar to how folks use virtual desktops. You’ll be able to switch layers by scrolling through a carousel on the left of the screen. It’s hard to tell if such an interface will be useful in the long run, but it’s definitely something unique and you can check out a video of it in action after the jump.
