Meizu, the iPhone clone-maker, will be shipping the Meizu M9 Android phone on December 25th to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen and other Chinese provinces and countries at a later date. The M9 will also be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was recently announced, to take advantage of built-in VoIP support as well as a full 32-bit color output. With Android 2.3, Meizu may also give the the M9’s user interface an overhaul as well. The device has a display resolution of 960 X 640, which is identical in resolution to Apple’s Retina Display on the iPhone. The 8 GB model will retail for $375 and the 16 GB model will sell for $405.
