Lotus Notes used to be really huge back in the day, but it is nice to see IBM not killing off the software suite just yet, having introduced Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.2.1 for Android smartphones. Currently, it works with iOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems, so Android support is the latest feather in IBM’s cap. Just what does Lotus Notes Traveler offer? Well, this is a push solution that delivers quick access to e-mail (including attachments), calendar, address book, journal and to-do list for Lotus Notes mobile users. Other handy features include automatic, two-way, OTA synchronization of Notes E-Mail, calendar and contact data, alongside the ability to remotely wipe lost or stolen devices while enabling one to read encrypted e-mails. It will need at least Android 2.x to run, alongside a deployment of at least one Lotus Domino 8.0.1 server or later. This is more for the corporate power user than everyday Joes…
